Step outside onto the veranda and you can enjoy your meal in the tropical surroundings, or cool down in the air-conditioned dining area, where there is plenty of room for families and larger groups to gather around long tables.
The menu is filled with familiar pub classics, served in generous portions designed to satisfy weary travellers and bring families together.
We couldn’t pick one highlight, so we’ve settled for three: the gluten-free calamari, the battered fish and the classic chicken parmigiana.
The chicken parmigiana is comfort food in every sense. Covered with crispy ham and melted cheese, the chicken remains moist and tender beneath a crisp, crumbed coating. The dish overall feels wonderfully familiar, bringing back memories of the kind of parmigiana your Nonna would make.
The gluten-free calamari is another standout and share-plate favourite. The plate is piled high with golden, cross-hatched curls of calamari, lightly seasoned and exceptionally crisp. A wedge of lime adds a fresh citrus zing that complements the seafood beautifully, making a filling meal that still feels light.
Fish lovers have the choice of battered, crumbed or grilled. We recommend the battered fish: a satisfying crunch giving way to soft, flaky white fish underneath. Paired with creamy tartare sauce, the simple combination can’t be beat.
If there is room, consider the sundaes and cakes on offer for a sweet finishing touch, and take the moment to simply treat yourself.
Friday nights bring another reason to linger with live music drawing locals and visitors alike and regularly filling the RSL. If you are keen for a tune alongside your feed, making a reservation is a must as Fridays are booked out fast.
