The Bowen Visitor Information Centre, next to the Big Mango, is run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. In 2025, Bowen was named the Top Tourism Town in Queensland, the Big Mango was named the “Best Big Thing” in the State and the info centre volunteers were awarded “Bronze” at the Queensland Tourism Awards.
The centre has a great range of local produce, Bowen merchandise, books and delicious locally-produced mango sorbet. The team has a wealth of local knowledge, greet all visitors with a smile and can give you information about the entire Whitsunday region and beyond.
The centre is also a Driver Reviver Station – providing free tea, coffee and biscuits to travellers to promote road safety.
